“I could not have asked for a better team”

We just had to move our office to a new location and as a new business owner, I was nervous about everything going off just right. While it was great that we were expanding to a new location, I couldn’t help but think of all the possible things that could go wrong. I was also very cautious about hiring movers–I have heard all kinds of stories of things getting broken or “lost” during an office move. One day I was sitting at a traffic light, worrying about the upcoming move, when I saw a Popeye’s truck driving by. Seeing this as a sign, I called them right then and there. I actually got to speak to the owner, Leo Genovese, and he was really helpful! He left such a great first impression that I decided to go with them before the light turned green.

Fast forward to moving day. The team of movers arrived on time and got right to work, packing up the whole office in no time! They took great care with our furniture and kept all of our computers, printers, phones, etc. well organized so that when we got to our destination, it was very easy to get set up and get back to work without missing a beat.

I am very grateful to Popeye’s Moving Company for making our office move go so well. I could not have asked for a better team to get us into our newer, bigger location.

WHAT WE DO.

Employee Training

At Popeye’s headquarters, new hires are put through a 90-day training program. Students are taught how to maneuver, wrap, pack and load items such as a grand piano, a china cabinet filled with breakables, glass tables, a washer and dryer, and a flat-screen television, to name a few. A truck box is set up at our training facility to train students to be able to fully pack the back of the truck with the items from the home. Our students are expected to be able to recognize obstacles and empty the house as quickly and efficiently as possible. Along with this rigorous training, they are also trained in the field of customer service, customer satisfaction, and hospitality. After all, our goal is to achieve all expectations of our customers, but our training never stops. We test our staff every 6 months as we are committed to being the best. We will change the world through love and a helping hand.

This checklist will help prepare you for your move. Please feel free toÂ contact us with any questions you have.Â

A month before the move

Reserve aÂ movingÂ company for your move as soon as you know you are moving.Â Popeye’sÂ moversÂ can also pack up your house for you.
Visit your localÂ Popeye’sÂ to purchase moving boxes and necessary packing supplies.
Start to clean out closets, the garage, attic, and basement.
Host a garage sale or donate your unwanted things to charity.
Arrange to transfer school records.
Get a change of address cards from your local post office.
Notify magazines, charge accounts, insurance companies, clubs and all other organizations of your change of address.
If possible, get owner’s manuals for appliances in your new home.

One to two weeks before the move

Make a “survival closet” of things you will need for the final clean-up and include a snack for the last day.
If you decide to pack yourself, label all the moving boxes as you pack. Write the destination room on the top and sides of each moving box to ensure it gets to the right place in your new home.
Schedule disconnects for gas, electric, water and the telephone. Don’t disconnect the phone until after your move. Arrange for refunds that are due and schedule connections for your new home.
Cancel newspapers, cable TV, security, pest control, cleaning help, lawn maintenance and any other services you receive.

The week of the move

Mail in your change of address forms.
Clean the stove.

The day before the move

Clean the refrigerator, then defrost and dry.
Get enough cash to tide you over.
Say goodbye to your neighbors!
